Minecraft X Lacoste | Minecraft Launches Lacoste Collection

Minecraft launches Lacoste apparel collection.

We’ve seen many clothing companies collaborating with companies outside of their industries, like Hotwheels and Dragon Ball Z. These collaborations bring the fandoms into the brand's influence. It benefits both the clothing company and the toy company in this example. Now we’re seeing a brand new collab between two unlikely companies.

With their brand new collaboration with Minecraft, Lacoste brings you the full-fledged Minecraft experience in the real world. Lacoste has been hinting at a possible collab with Minecraft for a while now. It finally dropped on their online stores on 16th March.

Starting 23rd March, the collection will also be available for the consumers to be brought directly from stores in the UK. The collaborators wish to bridge the gaps between the apparel industry and the gaming world by producing a whole collection of clothes with the iconic Minecraft pixelated graphics and design.

Mojang studios haven't done many collaborations in the past; the most noteworthy of their collaboration is adding the character STEVE to the Nintendo switch game Smash. This time around, they decided to go with a clothing company from France; let's deep dive into what they have cooked up for us!

Lacoste X Minecraft

Lacoste is a French clothing company founded by a tennis player, Rene Lacoste. The company is known for its iconic crocodile logo, which many call the alligator. Rene Lacoste was known as the Crocodile by the french fans because of his audacity on the court. He has been dubbed a legend by many French Tennis fans, and his legacy remains to this day through this brand which now is run by a Swiss Family led group called Masus Feres!

The brand is also known for its affiliation with tennis sporting superstars like Novak Djokovich, who recently found himself in a bit of controversy over covid vaccines. The company has sponsored many Tennis players and Golf players; their clothing line is very reminiscent of tennis and golfing attire.

On the other hand, Mojang Studios is responsible for one of the greatest games of all time, Minecraft. The game was initially created by Notch, who later sold it to Microsoft, becoming a billionaire. The game has been handled exceptionally well by the developers at Minecraft and is still releasing updates frequently.

Minecraft is a game that surpasses boundaries; people of every age and nationality can play the game without any resistance. The game is designed to allow you to do whatever you want, letting your creativity run wild in the fantastic worlds of Minecraft. The iconic pixelated style of the game is quickly noticeable, and Lacoste seems to be capitalizing on this via this collaboration with Minecraft.

The Lacoste X Minecraft collaboration consists of two parts, first is the clothing line that Lacoste created with elements from Minecraft and the other is the world that Minecraft created for Lacoste; you can basically call it a metaverse.

The design is used in the clothing line is very reminiscent of Minecraft. The pixelated font is being used along with the iconic green crocodile of Lacoste. Most of the hoodies and T-shirts are gaining traction from fans of the franchise.

Some of the best designs from the collection are given below; feel free to check them out by going to the online store.

Lacoste has also released Nylon waist bags, Minecraft print backpacks, shoulder bags, etc.

Lacoste X Minecraft Metaverse

The metaverse has been getting a lot of traction lately in the news. Every news outlet is talking about, every YouTuber is buying NFTs, and every brand is jumping on the bandwagon by creating their own visual presence in virtual worlds like Fortnite and the Sandbox. The Metaverse hype peaked when Facebook officially changed its name to Meta!

The metaverse is a concept that exists only in the virtual realm and can be accessed via our phones and VR goggles. Many don’t know this, but Minecraft is one of the best Metavreses out there and exists right now, not 30 years later. Since its release, it has been a metaverse; the term Metaverse just gained prominence a while ago. Still, Minecraft has been the best Metaverse on the planet ever since it enabled multiplayer. It ticks every box a Metaverse needs to tick, so brands are flocking towards it as bees do towards honey.

Unlike another metaverse with an entry barrier, Minecraft simply allows the players to join any world and play with their friends. These worlds have their own rules and regulation, even full-fledged economies; Minecraft earns a lot of money by selling in-game goods to players like skins, mos, maps, etc.

The community surrounding Minecraft is enormous; they've been creating mods and plugins for the game for over a decade at tis point. Many have made millions making Minecraft, metaverses, and creating an economy within the game. So when Lacoste announced their collaboration with Minecraft. It was quite evident that the clothing brand was moving towards the virtual world.

Lacoste has released a whole collection of clothes in collaboration with Minecraft. On the other hand, Minecraft has unveiled a brand new Metaverse called Croco Island, a Lacoste inspired map that Minecraft players can access right now. The world was revealed in the presence of gamers like Atomicmari and Stubble.

Skins have also been added to the game, which looks very similar to the apparel Lacoste has created. This is one of the best metaverse collaborations in a while; they’ve really managed to bridge the gap between the real and virtual world via this campaign.

Apart from the collab, the duo has also ventured into social media by creating a Lacoste X Minecraft filter which can be accessed by using this QR code.
